I wanted to say a huge thank you at the end of this very strange ‘first week’ not in school. Thank you for the engagement with the page and the messages you are sending to the children on our behalf. You are all doing a great job!
I thought you might like to know some of what we have been doing this week;
We have been developing new ways of communicating as a staff team; We are having a daily briefing via email at 9am and a ‘check-out’ email at 3pm. We have used Google Meet and Zoom to have staff meetings and discussions about how we can best provide work for the children and support for you as families. [Both of these means of communication are free and something you might like to try yourselves as a way of keeping in touch with friends. We had 15 people all on screen at the same time this morning; it was great!]
We have really enjoyed seeing your photos and have loved receiving emails from the pupils via Purple Mash. [I am making deliberate spelling mistakes to see if they are reading carefully!]
On Monday [30.03.2020], each class will have a ‘challenge’ that will be posted on Facebook and added to the class page on the Website. We would like you to post any photos relevant to that challenge in that ‘class thread’.
The children can continue working through the packs we sent home, accessing Purple Mash and linking with many of the free resources we have posted on our Facebook page. Pupils are also able to access all the free resources on HWB- if you haven’t yet emailed for their Hwb password, please get in touch.
We have all felt a strong need to be ‘connected’ this week and hope we have got the balance right; we want to provide support and ideas but we don’t want to overload you either!
If there is anyone who hasn’t signed up for the Free School meals deliveries next week, please look back through the page for details or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Indeed, if there is anything you would like to discuss more privately than the FB page, please contact me on the above email address.
I am asking the staff team to ‘switch off’ for the weekend, to rest, relax and recharge their batteries, so please don’t be offended if communication pauses at 5pm tonight and restarts Monday morning!
At a very difficult time for all, stay safe, stay connected to those you love and enjoy the sunshine.
